Sharing Energy With Others
This blog has been burning a hole in my mind for the last several days, so it is with GREAT relief that it finally gets committed to words! I’ve been feeling energetic shifts in myself, my loved ones, my clients, and strangers even. Some of those energy shifts are empowering; some of them are draining or evoke sadness or fear. So I took some think-time to ponder energy: what I’d like to see happen with it, what I’m observing, and more.
So, here’s the skinny: we are all conductors of energy whether we’re aware of it or not. How many of you can stand near someone and pick up the vibes that all is not well in that person’s world? That’s energy! Many of us experience intuitive “hits”, nudges, guidance about the energy we feel from others. Kody Bateman, the founder of SendOutCards, calls those feelings “prompts” and urges us to follow through on that guidance in some way. Have any of you ever felt prompted to say or do something based on an energetic feeling, but ignored or dismissed it, only to feel mounting discomfort for not acting on the guidance?
Let me give you an example from this week: a friend of mine posted on Facebook that she’d been driving down the street and came upon a 7-year-old boy walking by himself during the school day. He had apparently slipped out of school, believing he’d done something so bad he didn’t deserve to live. She stated, “My heart is aching for this little man and our world if he doesn’t know he is loved! Pray for him and I, I am having a hard time functioning today.” This post garnered 78 Likes and 40+ responses offering prayers, love, and support for the child, my friend, and the officer who assisted them.
So let’s talk about energy here. She could have driven right past this child in need, instead of heeding her inner guidance to tend to his needs. She was directly able to share her loving energy with this child. The rest of us were able to share our loving energy with them from a distance. Distance doesn’t matter, time doesn’t matter, knowing exactly where your loving energy is going or not doesn’t matter. If you feel the pull, just send it! Trust it will end up where it’s most needed.
Our energy is so much more useful when we make a conscious effort to share it. I like to think about it as I was taught by a wonderful friend of mine: imagine receiving energy into your left hand and sending it on to others through your right. I like to imagine that’s why many of the most powerful Healers are often depicted with their hands extended and their palms up!
Just make a little time in your day every day to move the energy along. When you see someone struggling, extend your hand and offer helping, loving energy. When you hear about someone and feel the tug in your heart, consciously send them energy. When you go to bed at night, take a few minutes to send your loving energy to anyone who comes to mind. Bless difficult situations with your energy of healing. Just imagine as more and more of us take the time to send our healing, loving energy out into this trouble world of ours. Personally, I imagine the power of this growing and growing as more and more amazing, beautiful things unfold. Sending my love to all of you.
